My name is Dr. Matthew Manry. I am a board-certified ophthalmologist and retina specialist. A retina specialist has undergone either one or two years of additional training in medical and surgical diseases of the retina. I did two years of surgical training at the Cincinnati Eye Institute and the University of Cincinnati learning both medical eye diseases such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and it can also include surgical conditions such as macular holes or a retinal detachment. My approach in trying to evaluate the different eye conditions with the patient is to try to figure out what is affecting them in their daily life. What are the things that they are having a hard time and struggling doing with their vision, and then trying to figure out a treatment option to restore their quality of life.
