I am Joel Meyers, and I am a board-certified eye surgeon here at the Eye Care Center of Northern Colorado. I am fellowship trained in cosmetic and reconstructive oculofacial plastic surgery. I have been here in Longmont for over 27 years now. I became interested in the medical field after experiencing a significant injury to my shoulder in high school playing football. I ended up requiring surgery on that, and that created a significant interest in the medical field. During medical school at Jefferson Medical College, we had the advantage of having, as part of our medical school, one of the largest eye hospitals in the country. We had a lot more exposure to the field of ophthalmology than most medical students do by far. There is nothing more gratifying than helping someone who can’t see well, see well again.
